Weeks on End

Yes folks - I'm posting from the fine state of Washington just to report my unease!
It's up and down and all around but at least management is finally making moves. Not much to say as it is time for the newbies to show their stuff. About time we solved the Bellhorn issue - but Arroyo must stay put!!!

I really honestly can't say much but GO SOX!

Keep them spankees away!

Its about time!

1 IP 0 H 0 BB 1 K 0 ER
On Saturday night for Curt Schilling!!!

Alrighty Curt - It's about time!!! I can live with that...

Curt actually looked pretty good. He was changing speeds effectively and locating the ball well. The real question is - can he do it again today?

PawSox @ Skychiefs 2 PM -- an that question should be answered.

Buddying Up

Dear Curt Schilling,

I know I haven't always been your biggest fan. I know I bash you for your big mouth and lack of current effectiveness, and the truth is - you do deserve some critics. But today, I'm here to give you your dues.

While 1 IP with 2 H and 1 ER and 5 IP with 8 H and 5 ER are not acceptable outtings for an ace in AAA ball, you still are the center of attention and hope for all of the nation. People by all rights should move on and realize you are done. But they wont. "Why should we?" they ask - and with good reason.

How many pitchers have beaten the Yankees 3/4 times in the ALCS and World Series in 3 years? Honestly!

How many guys would have their tendon sutured to their skin so they could carry a team into the promised land?

How many guys with numbers like yours, who have a place reserved in history, would agree to go to the bullpen to help a team?

I know in April I was upset at you - I can do it myself - attitude. Angry and hurt by your decision to return before you could be effective and pitch.

Right now I'm pleased at your offer to help and to be selfless.

Johnny Damon said some hurtful things but don't take them to heart.
Sure perhaps he did have reason to say:
"He's never done it. He throws 60 pitches to get loose for a game. He needs to get loose. Two outs in the eighth, a home run is hit. Get ready, 10 pitches. He can't do it. Timlin could, Bronson could. I don't think it's a good move for us. We've always talked about all year he'd come back and be a starter, and be a good starter. He can't just walk in and be a good closer. He's not ready yet. He's not ready."
But take it with a grain of sand - He IS an Idiot after all.

Sure, he may be right - but why not give it a go - I mean there is no way you could potentially hurt this team any more right?

With Foulke "hurt and out" who knows who will close next - Mr.-3-run-homerun-Embree --- waaaaaait a moment we already did that. hum.

Well Curt you want to close - close. You owe it to the team after you screwed them and the fans over in April by becoming hurt again - You should have just said hey guy's I'm done. We waited all off-season for you, never went after a Big Ace because we trusted your word. Well I'm done trusting you. Heck, I trust Arroyo or DiNardo more than you.

Curt, You did what you came here to do - that is win Boston its LONG deserved World Championship. But Don't become rebuild and become a curse that you once helped destroy.

~Lauren

PS - Shut your mouth up every once and again - I mean if you are going to talk at least back it up.

PSS - I'd still love an autograph or anything for my Sox Wall.... email me for my address and we can work something out

PSSS - GO SOX!!!

Foulke it

I can't take it anymore. There is nothing - NOTHING - more heartbreaking than blowing a lead in the 9th inning. It KILLS me.

Truth is it really isn't Foulke's fault... he had to face D, Young, and Teixeria - followed by Soriano and Mench - talk about a headache.

And on top of it - he's been way over used lately because everyone else in the Bullpen is about as good as my feet are clean (very scary).

Needless to say - I blame all the problems on the management... the coaching... and the owners. They are blinded by last years victory and are holding on to NAMES and not TALENT.

HUH?

But, just wait until Schilling comes back - perhaps than you will understand. And than I will be able to formulate more than a sentance or a scrap thought. Than I will cut loose and rip it up. You just wait. You better hope I'm wrong.

Than again, I hope I am wrong because I'd rather be happy and wrong than miserable and right.

As always:

GO SOX!

ps - try not to blow it again.
